Ted is excited to serve as the Hangar 6 Teacher and the Reading and English Language Arts (ELA) teacher to our Middle and High School age students this school year at ASHA. His goal is to help students not only strengthen their reading comprehension, grammar, and writing skills, but also discover the joy of storytelling and self-expression. He believes reading is more than decoding words—it is a way to build imagination, critical thinking, and confidence.
In Ted's classroom, students can expect a balance of structure and creativity. This year, students will review foundational skills such as parts of speech, sight words, and reading fluency, while also engaging in fun, interactive activities like storytelling, group discussions, and games that make literacy come alive. Ted's focus is on participation, collaboration, and creating a safe space where every student feels encouraged to share ideas and take risks with their learning.
Ultimately, Ted's goal is for students to leave his class with stronger literacy skills, a love for reading, and the confidence to use their voices in writing and in life.
